About Us

A family run part-time theatre school that has been running for over 100 years, and renamed to Chrystel Arts in 1987 when the current principal Christine took over.

Classes in speech and drama (including LAMDA), ballet, tap, modern, contemporary/lyrical (ISTD), street, dance fusion, musical theatre and dance based fitness for all ages and abilities!

Our acting agency has also been running for over 25 years representing children & adults for work in film, TV and theatre.

Drama classes

Our group drama lessons help improve clarity and confidence in speech, as well as building imagination, self-esteem, acting skills. Students also have the opportunity to take solo LAMDA exams through our classes, so no need for expensive private lessons!

We offer dance classes in ballet, tap, modern jazz, contemporary/lyrical, street, dance fusion and fitness through dance for all ages and abilities. Students also have the opportunity to take ISTD exams through these classes in a caring encouraging environment.

LAMDA exam results are in! A huge well done to our students across both our Edgware and Chesham branches who took an exam in December - all our students passed with Merits and Distinctions! A special well done goes to Richa, our highest marked, who gained 97 marks for her Grade 8 Reading for Performance!! Classes start back today, and we can’t wait to see you all! We took a work trip out today to see Jasper playing Young Harry in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and we couldn’t be prouder! His hard work and dedication really shines through, and he is working with an absolutely fab cast 🪄 Good luck to our client Kevin who’s working on a music video today! We are really excited to announce our February workshops in Chesham! We will have separate children and adult 2 hour intensives in Speaking In Public and Nail that Self Tape! Lovely seeing our client and student Jayda in episode 1 of Man Vs Baby playing Mary! Now on Netflix ✨thanks to the lovely team at Sarah Crowe Casting! Our Ignition Dance Production show photos are in, and it’s been so lovely reliving the day! We can’t wait to be back next year 🩰🎩 Another weekend, another dance event! We had a fab time taking part in this years Tapathon, well done to all our tappers from our Chesham and Edgware branches, as well as some friends from Amersham Dance Studio who joined us too🤠 a great fun event raising money for BBC Children in Need, and trying to set the world record for the most amount of people tap dancing at once! Wow! What an incredible day we all had yesterday at Ignition Dance Productions. Our dancers pulled out all the stops in their Fosse jazz & tap number, and looked so beautiful in their ballet dance. We are beyond proud of all their hard work both in rehearsals and on stage yesterday, as we really pushed them with the choreography! Some of our dancers also had their first experience of being in a show ✨ a big thank you to the team at IDP, our teachers and chaperones, and all the parents for supporting our show team!
